On July 4th "America" turns 250. That is reason to celebrate, but at the same time the United States is in a deep crisis that has had a global impact.
So is it a "happy birthday"?
With an event series on July 16, the Amerika-Institut will take a critical look at US history and current affairs. The distinguished guest speakers are Nicole A. Moore (National Center for Civil and Human Rights in Atlanta), Charles Woods (Birmingham Civil Rights Institute), and Hugh Eakin (Editor at Large at Foreign Affairs magazine).
This will be followed by a book flea market and the Sommerfest.
