We kindly invite you to our guest lecture by Dr. Mary Anne Trasciatti (Hofstra University) on Friday, October 28, 12:15 pm, via Zoom

20.10.2022

The American History doctoral program of the Amerika-Institut invites you to the online guest lecture by Dr. Mary Anne Trasciatti, Professor of Rhetoric and Public Advocacy and Director of Hofstra University's Labor Studies Program.

Dr. Trasciatti will talk to us about a campaign to remember the 146 victims (mostly young Italian and Jewish immigrant women and girls) of the 1911 Triangle Shirtwaist Factory Fire in New York City and the resulting movement for workers’ rights and safety.

As President of the Remember the Triangle Fire Coalition, Dr. Trasciatti has devoted more than a decade to advocating for the creation of a permanent public art memorial to the victims of the fire in lower Manhattan. More info: https://rememberthetrianglefire.org
