We mourn the loss of Prof. Dr. Berndt Ostendorf

Prof. Dr. Berndt Ostendorf, the the longtime Chair of American Cultural History (1981-2005), passed away in Munich on October 18, 2024.
While his health had already deteriorated critically over the last few months, the news of his death came as a shock to us all, and we are deeply saddened. Berndt was a great scholar and passionately committed to teaching American cultural history. We miss him greatly.
