Bio:
Anna Flügge studied at the University of Freiburg, at the University of Massachusetts/Amherst and at Purdue University. Her research interests are crime fiction, the American short story, and novel/film adaptation, among others. Her publications include the monograph James Ellroy and the Novel of Obsession (2010) and the essays "Ryan Bingham and Capitalism in Jason Reitman's Up in the Air" and "Modernism and the Creation of Anti-Landscapes: The Valley of Ashes in F. Scott Fitzgerald's The Great Gatsby and Los Angeles in Chandler's The Big Sleep."
