Study Abroad
Students at the Amerika-Institut are strongly encouraged to spend one or two semesters abroad during their studies, ideally in the US or Canada. A number of different options are available to our students, and our contact persons will be happy to talk to any student interested in spending time at a university outside Germany.

If you want to spend the winter term 2026/27 on a US-American campus, apply by Dec. 15, 2025!
We have spaces for BA and MA students at the University of Georgia (UGA) and Wayne State University (WSU)

Erasmus
Two major possibilities for students are the Erasmus program for European exchanges and the LMU program for exchanges with the US and Canada. For more information, please contact PD Dr. Charlotte Lerg.
